Signed company documents from Howard Hughes Sr./Jr.
with a PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity
From a private collection, offered for sale is an original 1920's company archive from the Hughes Tool Company, the company Howard Hughes Sr. started and passed down to his son, Howard Hughes Jr. The typed letters / documents measures 8.5 X 11 inches. Includes:
1) Howard Hughes Sr. hand signed Hughes Tool Company employee bonus schedule, dated 3/30/1923. Hughes also hand wrote in 'at any time', adding to the last paragraph, last line, "The President of any majority stock-holder in the Company may abrogate or change this plan of bonus distribution, if he shall see fit.[at any time]." Includes a PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity for the Howard Hughes Sr. signature.
2) March 27, 1922 Company file executed copy of the Hughes Tool Company Bonus plan, with both Howard Hughes Sr./Jr. signing on second page.
3) March 30, 1927 Company file executed copy of the Hughes Tool Company Bonus payout structure, with Howard Hughes Jr. signing on 2nd/3rd page.
4) February 15, 1929 Company file executed copy of the Hughes Tool Company Bonus plan percentage payout structure, again with Howard Hughes Jr. copied signatures on 1st/2nd page.
A rare archive from very early in the Hughes family history. In 1924, Howard Hughes Sr. passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack, leaving the Hughes Tool Company family business to his young teenage son, Howard Hughes Jr. This major life event would inspire Hughes to develop and become the major mogul/innovator that is now etched into history. Making significant advances in engineering, aviation, and filmmaking.
