Coronado Glossy Aqua Chop Plate Round Platter Gladding McBean FranciscanFor consideration is this vintage chop plate or round platter made by Gladding McBean in California in their Franciscan line of pottery or earthenware. The pattern is called “Coronado” and identifiable by the swirled edge. This is in glossy aqua and was made from 1936 until 1954.
The plate measures 11 5/8 inches in diameter. The back is marked and it is in beautiful vintage condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, repairs, scratches, discoloration or crazing noted. Buyer will pay Priority shipping on a 4 pound box. Thank you for looking!
NOTE:
Gladding-McBean chose the name "Franciscan," feeling it was symbolic of California's early history. Production of Franciscan earthenware ceramics with its brilliant glazed colors began in 1934. Franciscan China was introduced in 1942 with the Desert Rose pattern.
