Gladding McBean Green Fountain Kneeling Boy W/Dolphin 16 1/2" Tall c1920's

Description

We are offering an original circa 1920's Gladding McBean, Los Angeles, CA, figural fountain depicting a boy kneeling over a large figural dolphin, his left hand on the back and his right holding the tail.  Stands 16 1/2' tall and measures 12" front to back x 9" across at the widest points.  Glazed in a gorgeous glossy light green that really accents the fine details of the piece.  The water can be pumped out through the opening in the mouth of the dolphin, or it could be used as presented as ornamental garden art without a fountain feature.  Either way, the sculpture displays beautifully in an inside or outside environment!  In very good overall condition, possibly never used - looks to have been stored away from the elements.  There is a shallow 3/4" long x 1/2" high chip to the edge of the base as seen in photo #5.  No other chips, no cracks or breaks.  Please study the photos as they are a part of the description.
