Vintage 1950's Spartanburg, SC Fire Department Fireman's Belt Buckle

A1927. This is a nice collectible rare item. It is a vintage, i think around the late 1940's to mid 1950's belt buckle. Ofcourse it could be earlier than this but I think not later. It has the initials of the real fireman on the front of the buckle and more, it reads---SFD (Spartanburg Fire Department), JED (Fireman's initials) and there is an embossed early 20th century fire truck. It is signed on the back and it reads---Hook Fat Co., PAT, 41 John St., N Y City." This buckle is in good condition. It is small measuring about 2 1/4" long x 1 1/2" wide. The actual belt wide width is 1 3/8". Men wore narrow belts in the 40's and 50's.  I think the front initials were at one time either just painted blue or enmeled blue because I can still see traces of blue on the letters. I do not know for sure what the base metal is made of it could possibly be a type of silverplate/ electoplating over brass as the initials are showing what looks like brass and other places are showing what looks like brass under the silver color maetal. thank you for looking and please visit all my historical items in my store.
